How to choose the right mirror for your space
Where should I hang a mirror?
Hang a mirror opposite or beside a window to bounce daylight deeper into the room and make the space feel larger, the oldest trick for opening up a small room. Put a mirror in the entryway for a last look on the way out, or centre one over a console or mantel to anchor the wall. Just avoid hanging mirrors where they only reflect a blank wall or clutter.
What size mirror do I need?
Over a console or sideboard, choose a mirror about two-thirds the width of the furniture below. For a bedroom or dressing area, lean a full-length or floor mirror against the wall to make the ceiling feel taller. For a bathroom, size the mirror to your vanity. In a tight spot, use a round mirror to soften hard lines and read as decorative as much as functional.
What style and frame should I choose?
Match the frame to your room's materials. Our designers reach for Bouclair's walnut and natural-wood mirrors to echo warm floors, or black and gold finishes to pick up existing metals. Choose a round frame for a current, organic look, or a rectangular or arched shape for something more classic.
How do I style a mirror with other wall décor?
Group the mirror with framed wall art and wall decorations, and let the mirror be the reflective centrepiece. Keep the finishes in one family so the arrangement reads intentional, or shop a curated collection where we have already paired mirrors with the pieces around them.
